September 17, 2010
Chinese telecom equipment supplier Huawei recently announced that the company deployed and launched a commercial 1800MHz LTE/EPC (Long Term Evolution/Evolved packet Core) network for Polish mobile operator Mobyland with its proprietary solution, claiming to be the first of its kind in the industry, according to a press release by Huawei. Through this tie-up, Mobyland, partnering with CenterNet, is poised to provide local mobile broadband operators and their end users a maximum downlink speed of more than 146 Mbps, according to the same source. Huawei stated that the company had completed the first phase of the deployment by software upgrading Mobyland's existing 2G network, which has network coverage including Poland's major cities such as Marsaw, Katowice, and Lodz.
